Stacey Filak — Hospital Manager
Stacey Filak joined Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic in March 2015. She grew up in Vermontville, Michigan and currently lives in Portage. She attended Western Michigan University, studying English and Secondary Education. Stacey has a yellow lab named Bigby and two cats, Charlie and Momo. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids playing games, watching football, reading and writing novels.
Maggie Stein, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Maggie Stein is a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) who began working at Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic in September 2011. She grew up in Schoolcraft, Michigan and currently lives in Augusta. Maggie studied at Baker College where she earned her Associates degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology. Maggie's family includes four dogs, a cat, and a flock of chickens. Maggie enjoys going to concerts, playing cards, gardening, raising poultry, river tubing, grilling out and long camping weekends. Maggie also has an interest in animal behavior.
Laura Mellinger, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Laura Mellinger joined our practice in April 2014 as a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). She earned her LVT designation from Penn Foster College. She grew up in Richland, Michigan and currently lives in Vicksburg. Her pets include a cat named Cookie, a dog named Niko, two horses (Babe and Smokey), and two goats (Petey and Randy). In her spare time, Laura enjoys showing her horses, kayaking with her husband, and 4-wheeling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Jen Green, Veterinary Assistant
Jen Green has been employed as a Veterinary Assistant at Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic since April of 1993. Her hometown is Coldwater, Michigan and she currently lives in Oshtemo with her son, two dogs, and two cats. Jen studied at Kellogg Community College and Paragon School of Pet Grooming. Her interests include camping, playing cards, animal behavior, and spending time with her son.
Paige Garner — Veterinary Assistant
Paige Garner joined Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic in June 2015 as a part-time Veterinary Assistant. She grew up in Portage where she continues to live today. She attended Ross Medical Education Center in the Veterinary Assistant program. Paige has a pit bull named Ella, and a cat named Charlie. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and pets.
Rachel Heuser, Veterinary Assistant & Client Care Specialist
Rachel Heuser began working as a Client Care Specialist and Veterinary Assistant at Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic in March of 2005. She has studied at Western Michigan University and is currently preparing to apply to the Registered Nursing (RN) program at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She was raised in Hesperia, Michigan and now lives in Kalamazoo. Her household includes two dogs, two cats, and three chickens. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys gardening, camping, traveling, kayaking, and any fun outdoor activity. She is a foodie and will try anything new and interesting.
Kris Zakula, Veterinary Assistant & Client Care Specialist
Kris Zakula started working at Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic as a Pet Care Attendant and has since taken on the roles of Veterinary Assistant and Client Care Specialist. She grew up in Shipshewana, Indiana and currently lives in downtown Kalamazoo. She studied Interior Design in Chicago and History at Purdue University. Kris has a three year old pit bull mix, Lali, and a nine year old cat named Evie. Kris enjoys decorating, reading and baking.
Julie DeBoer-Harrison, Client Care Specialist
Julie DeBoer-Harrison joined our team as a Client Care Specialist in June 2014. She grew up in Vicksburg and still lives there with her family. Julie is currently seeking to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) through Penn Foster. Her household includes one dog, horses, and barn cats. Julie enjoys family time, staying in shape, and working on her horse farm.
Devin Mann, Pet Care Attendant
Devin Mann is our Pet Care Assistant. He has worked at Sprinkle Road Veterinary Clinic since March 2013. A graduate of Mattawan High School, he still lives in Mattawan. Devin has one dog and two cats. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, landscaping, farming and taking care of animals.
